The code of points 2001.
A new code of point is effective since january 1st, 2001. Here is a short description of the main modifications with regard to the old one.
Only those having the 12 highest total scores in each category
after competitions 1 and 2 may take part to competition 3 (combined
exercise).
The balance en tempo finals start from 0. There is no carry over
score from competition 1 or 2. For events with 12 or more
participating pairs/groups, the 8 bests of each preliminary exercise
participate to the corresponding final.
One piece full length suits are allowed.
The 5 minutes warming up on the competition floor is not a right
anymore. The warm up occurs in comparable conditions to those of the
competition hall.
Markings on the competition floor are not permitted.
All exercises have a maximum duration of 2 minutes 30 seconds. The 3 seconds of tolerance are suppressed.
The judges' panel is composed of :
The difficulty judges define the difficulty mark which is not
limited.
The technical judges evaluate the execution up to 10.0 to an accuracy
of 0.1.
The artistic judges give a score from 0 to 5.0 to an accuracy of 0.1
for the artistry, composition, synchrony and music and the
presentation.
The CJP gives penalties for :
He/She also judges the execution and artistry but his/her scores are reserved scores.
The total score = the difficulty mark + the average of the scores of all technical judges + the average of the scores of all artistic judges - the CJP's penalty mark.
The minimum difficulty for the juniors and during the competitions
1 and 2 of the seniors is 20. For the seniors finals (competitions 3,
4 and 5), it is 40. When the difficulty of an exercise is lower, the
difficulty mark is 0.
The repetitions do not count niether for the difficulty nor for the
special requirements.
Balance elements from the same family realised on different support
position are differents elements.
The declarations of the exercises must contain the possible
alternatives. Only the elements which are performed AND are declared
on the forms will be evaluated for difficulty.
The values of all individual elements are totalled and averaged by
the number of partners with rounding to the nearest whole number.
The technical execution of individual elements is evaluated separately for each gymnast.
The pair/group static balance elements must be held for a minimum
of 3 seconds each.
Individual balance elements must be held for 2 seconds minimum.
The final position of a motion and/or transition must show a control
of one second hold.
All balance combinations with motion(s) and/or transition(s) must end
with a static, held for 3 seconds, element..
Special requirements :
Most of the modifications are related to individual elements.
For balance execises, 3 individual elements selected from category 1,
excluding choreographic elements, are required.
For Tempo exercises, 3 individual elements, excluding choreographic
elements, selected from category 2 are required. A Salto must be
included.
The combined exercise must include 2 elements from category 1 and 2
elements from category 2. They may not be choreographic elements and
a category 1 or 2 salto must be performed.
The choreographic elements may be used for extra difficulty once the
special requirements are met.
Womens' groups pyramids are classified into 5 categories. The two
required pyramids for their balance exercise must from two diffrent
categories.
During the balance and tempo finals, one pair/group element must be
different from those performed in the respective preliminaries.
The combined exercise must include a minimum of one static balance
and one tempo pair/group element different from those performed
during the qualification competitions.
